How to use the Extract PDF Pages

Create a smaller PDF containing only the pages you choose, using comma-separated page numbers and ranges.

Create a new PDF containing selected pages from one source document. Page ranges are entered using human-friendly one-based numbers and validated before any output is offered.

The selected file is processed in browser memory. Keep an original copy and inspect the downloaded result before using it as an authoritative or archival document.

  1. Choose an unencrypted PDF and review its detected page count.
  2. Enter pages such as 1,3-5,8; duplicates are removed from the extracted output.
  3. Fieldlet copies those pages into a new local PDF and provides it for download.

Worked examples

Extract two sections

Scenario: A 20-page PDF is loaded and pages 2-4, 9, and 15-17 are requested.

Result: The new PDF contains seven pages in the order specified.

The ranges expand to 2, 3, 4, 9, 15, 16, and 17, then those source pages are copied into a new document.

How the result is produced

The parser converts comma-separated page numbers and ranges into a validated list. Fieldlet maps one-based labels to zero-based PDF indexes only after rejecting out-of-range or malformed selections.

  • Page 1 means the first page displayed by ordinary readers
  • A range such as 4-7 includes both endpoints
  • Selection order determines output order when the interface permits custom order

Limitations and common mistakes

  • Encrypted or unsupported documents may not be readable in the browser.
  • Document-level bookmarks, signatures, forms, and accessibility structures may not transfer fully to an extracted file.

Common questions

Can I extract page ranges?

Yes. Use entries such as 2-6 and combine ranges with individual pages using commas.

Can I extract the same page twice?

If duplicate selections are accepted, the page is copied twice. Review the parsed selection summary before generating the file.
