How to use the Spin the Wheel
Add one choice per line and spin to select one. Keep every choice eligible, or remove each winner automatically for drawings without replacement while retaining a clear recent-results history.
Turn a custom list into a visual wheel for low-stakes choices, classroom turns, activities, or giveaways. Each non-empty entry occupies one equal selection slot, regardless of the text length shown on screen.
The selection runs in the browser and the entered list is not sent to Fieldlet. Agree on eligibility and reroll rules before using randomness with a group.
Enter at least two choices, one per line.
Press Spin the wheel to make a random selection.
Optionally remove each winner from the next spin and review the recorded pool size in the recent-results history.

Worked examples
Choose a team presentation order
Scenario: Six team names are entered once each and the wheel is spun with removal enabled after every selection.
Result: Each spin selects one remaining team until all six have an order.
The visual rotation builds anticipation, while the selected index comes from the browser's random source. Removing winners changes the next spin to an equal choice among only the remaining entries.
How the result is produced
Every entered line represents one equally likely slot. Repeating an entry intentionally gives it more slots and therefore more probability. The animation does not determine the outcome; it displays the already selected result.
One entry equals one equal-probability slot
Duplicate labels are separate entries unless removed
Remove-after-spin is useful for building a no-repeat order
Recent results retain the original pool size for each recorded selection
Make a wheel auditable
For a group activity, show the final entry list before spinning and decide in advance whether selected entries will be removed. Clear rules prevent an accidental duplicate or last-minute list change from appearing unfair.
Use one line per eligible choice.
Remove unintended blank or duplicate lines.
Agree on reroll conditions before the first spin.
Limitations and common mistakes
The wheel is designed for transparent, low-stakes decisions rather than regulated drawings.
Very long labels may be shortened visually even though the full entry remains in the list.
Common questions
How many choices can I add?
The wheel accepts up to 50 valid choices so labels and controls remain usable on phones and desktops.
Can I use names?
Yes. Names, numbers, words, activities, and short phrases all work.
Does a longer label get a larger slice?
No. Slice probability is based on the number of entries, not the number of characters in a label.
