Scenario: A student has 92% in homework weighted 25%, 81% in exams weighted 50%, and 95% on a project weighted 15%. The remaining 10% is not graded.
Result: The current grade across completed categories is 86.39%.
Weighted points are 23 + 40.5 + 14.25 = 77.75. Dividing by the 90 entered weight points gives 0.8639, or 86.39%. The calculator reports the normalized current grade rather than treating the ungraded 10% as zero.
Scenario: Four categories contribute 20%, 20%, 25%, and 35%, and all four averages are available.
Result: The total weight is 100%, so the weighted-points sum is also the projected course percentage.
No normalization beyond 100 is needed once the weights cover the complete grading plan.
For each row, Fieldlet multiplies the score percentage by its weight. Current-grade mode divides the total by the weight entered, while course-contribution mode divides by the full 100% course basis. This makes the treatment of unentered work explicit instead of silently assuming one interpretation.
A current grade describes the work included so far. A final course grade requires every remaining component or an explicit assumption about future scores. Use the Final Grade Calculator when you know the target grade and the remaining exam weight.

Yes. Enter categories such as Homework, Exams, and Projects as rows with their category averages and weights.
It divides weighted points by the full 100% course basis, so weight you have not entered contributes no points. This is useful for distinguishing progress from points already banked toward the final grade.
Usually no. Leave genuinely ungraded work out when you want a current grade. Enter zero only when the course policy already treats the missing work as a zero.
