How to use the Random Number Generator
Choose a range and quantity, then generate integers or decimals. Decimal mode supports 1–10 displayed decimal places, while integer mode can prevent duplicates when the range is large enough.
Generate one or more integers or fixed-precision decimal values inside a range for games, samples, classroom prompts, or everyday choices. Integer results can be sampled with or without replacement, while decimal mode supports 1–10 displayed places.
The selection runs in the browser and the entered list is not sent to Fieldlet. Agree on eligibility and reroll rules before using randomness with a group.
Enter the minimum and maximum values for the range.
Choose how many values to generate, whether you need decimal precision, or whether integer results must be unique.
Generate again at any time for a fresh independent set of values.

Worked examples
Draw three distinct raffle positions
Scenario: Choose three integers from 1 through 50 with duplicates disabled.
Result: The tool returns three different values, each inside the inclusive 1–50 range.
Candidate integers are selected with Web Crypto rejection sampling and accepted only if they have not already been drawn.
How the result is produced
Fieldlet prefers cryptographically secure browser randomness. Rejection sampling discards raw values that would make some integers slightly more likely after a remainder operation, producing an even mapping across the requested range.
Both integer minimum and maximum are eligible outcomes
Without replacement, requested integer count cannot exceed the range size
Decimal places control output granularity rather than measurement accuracy
A fresh draw is independent unless duplicates are explicitly prevented within that draw
With replacement and without replacement
Allowing duplicates is equivalent to returning each number to the pool after it is drawn. Preventing duplicates removes each selected value for the rest of that draw. Choose the mode that matches the real-world process you are modeling.
Use duplicates for independent dice-like trials.
Prevent duplicates for unique seats, names, or raffle positions.
Document the range and mode before a high-stakes draw.

Common questions
Can I generate several numbers at once?
Yes. Generate up to 100 values in one set and copy them together.
Can I prevent duplicates?
Yes for integer generation, as long as the selected range contains enough different integers for the requested quantity.
Why not use Math.random()?
The generator uses Web Crypto when available and maps values with rejection sampling, avoiding the predictable and modulo-biased behavior that weaker approaches can introduce.
