How to use the Word Unscrambler
Enter a set of letters and find dictionary words that can be assembled without using any letter more times than it appears in your input.
Find dictionary words that can be formed from a set of letters, optionally constrained by length. It is designed for word-game study and puzzle exploration, not for asserting that every game accepts the same vocabulary.
The text stays in the browser while the tool analyzes or transforms it. Review the output before using it in a graded, published, legal, or accessibility-sensitive document.
Enter two or more letters and optionally choose a minimum word length.
The word-game dictionary loads only when you run the search.
Fieldlet compares the available letter counts with each candidate and groups matches by word length.

Worked examples
Unscramble listen
Scenario: The letters L, I, S, T, E, N are entered with six-letter results requested.
Result: Possible results include enlist, inlets, listen, silent, and tinsel when present in the bundled corpus.
Each candidate's letter-frequency signature is compared with the available letters, so no letter can be used more often than supplied.
How the result is produced
The algorithm normalizes letters, builds a frequency count, and filters the local English corpus for words whose required counts fit the input. Exact-anagram mode also requires the candidate to use every supplied letter.
Repeated input letters can be used only that many times
Exact mode uses every letter; contains mode can return shorter words
Dictionary coverage and a game's official word list are different questions
How letter matching works
Sorting letters is a useful way to visualize an exact anagram, but frequency counting is more efficient for searching many dictionary entries. For each candidate, the tool verifies that every needed letter count is available in the rack.
LISTEN and SILENT share the same six-letter counts.
LETTER cannot be built from LATER because it needs an extra T and E.
Wildcard tiles are not assumed unless the interface explicitly offers them.
Limitations and common mistakes
Proper nouns, inflections, slang, and regional words may differ from a specific game's approved list.
The bundled corpus is a discovery aid and does not provide definitions or context.
Common questions
Is this an official Scrabble dictionary?
No. Fieldlet uses an open-source English word-game list and does not claim compatibility with any proprietary game dictionary or tournament rules.
Why might an unusual word appear?
Word-game lists include inflections, regional forms, and uncommon vocabulary. Verify a word against the rules of the specific game you are playing.
Why is a word missing or rejected by my game?
Word lists use different editorial rules. Confirm disputed entries with the official dictionary or word list for that game.
